This would be such a cliché if it weren’t true… This world needs so so much more love. Wouldn’t a Monday start perfectly, if you knew you started it’s travels? You can’t ever tell who will need it or who’s life it will touch. That wripple spreds far and wide.

Celebrating Sobriety in September

I’m so proud of all of you in sobriety!!!!
Never allow the past keep you from moving forward.

I came across a blog post that identified September 14th as National Sober Day! I wanted to craft this post because I know a few of my followers are walking this life. I want to give each of them special love because alcoholism is a toxic waste of time, love, money, and life. Not only have these INCREDIBLE individuals chosen to stop the insanity cycle, but they continue to choose it EVERY SINGLE DAY. They understand that they must choose to be sober every day… Or alcohol will choose them.

You know who you are… And I’m so incredibly proud of you!! I’m here to walk with you and talk with you… So you don’t pick up that bottle… So you don’t fall into the trap of addiction. You’re incredibly strong and deserve a happy and healthy version of you!! I hope you ALWAYS remember that.
National Recovery Month 2019 30th Anniversary.

September is also National Recovery Month, evolved from substance abuse recovery. You can check out their website HERE!

If you know someone in sobriety, please take a minute and tell him or her how proud you if him/her!! I’m certain it would make a difference in their life and the kindness will wripple. They’re walking a tough tough road. They deserve the recognition of their accomplishments.

Embracing You

Brenè Brown is one of my favorite people. She’s real and accepting of all that she is as a woman, human, and an adult. I saw her Netflix special; it changed my life. She empowered me to embrace more acceptance of who I am. I wanted to share this incredible footage with you. These posts were taken from this site. I couldn’t find that particular video but here are a few others that are just as amazing.

Hope you enjoyed these and forever embrace yourself with more gentle grace.

What Are Your Emotions Really Telling You? | Brighter Path Counseling

This is profound:

One important note to remember is that your emotions are not facts.  Your emotions are entirely valid- meaning that they are never right or wrong.  But, they are not always based on realistic or rational thoughts

I hear the word is, our harvesters website is temporarily disabled. That’s wonderful. I am proud of all of us. Though change can take place with a single voice, ALL EFFORTS should be recognized and praised. Change happens on a personal level; and, collaboratively, on a much greater level.

What I’m Grateful for today?

  • TV

I Give Up

Today on June 25, 2019, I’m following beside the brave and beautiful soul, JoyPassionDesire; and I’m giving up!

Say whhhhaaaa?

I’m giving up expecting others to care about my feelings when I know they won’t.

I’m giving up the fear to open up and let someone in.

I’m giving up the belief that I’m unloveable and difficult to love.

I’m giving up the downward spiral of his toxic life.

I’m giving up the caution that hinders happiness and invites doubt.

I’m giving up the belief in “finding the one”… Because life will lead love to find me.

I’m giving up the lie that I’m nothing because I’m not working.

I’m releasing all the negative voices, Vibes, and energy out into the vast unknown…

And I wait for that which my heart is speaking into my life.

The power of Law of Attraction will manifest my dreams and desires.

Filling all the empty places in my soul, with the sweetest taste of what’s meant for me.

What about you, what do you need to release? So you’re free to fly?

Let me know in a comment below,

Mental Health Journey 15

Where to begin?

The order of events of my life never cease to astound me. I realize what I never do in storms, is this:

“Why me?! I’ve been through enough. Why is this happening to me.”

I also rarely stay in this mindset:

“God, here I am again. When something goes wrong, the chain of events in the same follow. Why can’t something go right.”

I know there’s an intended purpose for every occurrence I face. I know the occurrence is either teaching me a lesson of my past, or preparing me for my future. Nothing occurs for us to remain complacent and comfortable.

I’m thankful I realize I don’t need to be or remain idle.

I found this and it seems to be the significant message that Repeating itself on social media lately.

How to Listen Without Getting Defensive

I will be the first to say ” I Do This!! ” No, I don’t want to, so I’ve been working on it.

Today I learn something so interesting, our neurotransmitters filter all the information we absorb. Now, when we hear a ” difference of opinion” about a subject of our deep concern, because it’s of importance to us, we get defensive! It’s the same process that occurs if we see a loved one getting attacked.

This particular article talks about how we can work ourselves out of that defense mode. These are EASY AND SIMPLE changes that can strengthen our relationships of any level!

You’ve Got This!! Good Luck!

Here’s the key to listening non-defensively.

Just Don’t

I don’t owe you an explanation.

My clothes are on my body; it’s not a welcome invitation to violate.

My skin color IS my beauty; my history my story. It’s not your ticket to decimate and hate.

My voice is my truth; my right to use it. You will not munipulate and silence.

My actions are my life, my legacy to pass on. It’s not up for you to revise and edit.

My heart lives within me, the element that gives me life. It’s not yours to destroy with your bitterness.

My sexually is my pride. It’s nothing offensive but to your ego.

My spirituality is my peace. It’s not an excuse for your nasty ignorance of unacceptable behavior.

Any, every, and all parts of who I am is mine to own, protect, nurture, love, cherish, and use to further kindness and compassion.

I don’t owe you an explanation!

Universe Connection

It’s crazy how connected I am with the vibes around me. I literally just went from 0 to 100% on the pissed off scale. Not a good state of mind at midnight. I’ve been super emotional and not sure how to get a reign on it. Anyway, shortly after, these messages showed up in my life. Thankfully, my heart thrives best because I notice when I’m being spoken to. Though, the second is hard to do, it’s a comfort to feel my thoughts acknowledged.

Won the Battle

Won the Battle

Written for Go Dog Go Cafè’s: Tuesday’s Writing Prompt 02/12/2019

Today’s prompt:

Today I challenge you to write a poem called an “elfchen.”  I was introduced to these little poems by poets on Instagram.  I find them challenging yet fun to write. An elfchen is an 11 word poem written in 5 lines— Line 1=1word,  Line 2=2words,  Line 3=3words, Line 4=4 words,  Line 5 =1 word.  Lines 1 and 5 should not be the same word.

The fun in this challenge on Instagram is when you are tagged by someone, you must start your poem using that person’s LAST word as your FIRST.  Today I give you 3 elfchens written my me.  You may use the last word of any of the poems to start yours.

Resilient, Wise.

She has won.

The battle: her mind.

I challenge these 3 individuals to write an “ elfchen”. You can use the last word of mine OR begin one of your own. Please create a Pingback to this post.

Weekend Writing Prompt #93

Check out Sammi Cox’ Weekend Writing Prompts by clicking on the image above.
Her truth preyed on her existence. Despite all efforts, her life has become monotonous monotones and irritating interactions. Nothing felt “normal”. Nothing felt fulfilling. She was “elsewhere” in her soul. Today, she felt the blanket lift. There’s a greater sense of ease with each rise and fall of her lungs. Her grief loosened it’s grip, as she retreated to a park bench. Details have become more defined, and a hopeful horizon echoed around her.

Finish Line

Hindsight often looks like the “bigger picture”.

It’s a goal; a drive, if you will. It’s there that we meet the finish line.

It seems so far sometimes, getting from here to there.

It usually is. So much work goes into the process of Point A to Point C.

That’s the long term goal. It’s the long term gain.

The bigger picture always provides so much more satisfaction because of the work it requires. The taste is so much more pleasant.

In my life, the distractions and the trails that lead away from Point C are everything.

Sometimes, I sway alittle. I did just today. With some peace and self-reflection, I was able to refocus. I’m able to do that. I want that bigger picture.

When life gets tough, as we all know it will…

Don’t give up and don’t give in.

Focus on the finish line 💕

Fandango’s Provocative Question

His question:

“What is more important to you, doing the right thing or doing things right?”

In my opinion, it’s equally important to do the right thing AND to do things right.

Sometimes, we don’t know how to do things right. When we haven’t been taught a skill, it’s likely we’ll first do it incorrectly. Thereafter, it’s important that we do it right.

Now on the other hand, doing the right thing is usually pretty clear. It’s the choice that falls in line with the laws and ethics. This choice reflects a person’s character. This is important because it keeps us safe and secure. It keeps the peace, so they say.

Of the two, being that we don’t always know the right thing or how to do something right, it’s important we take the opportunities to grow and learn.

Life worth living… Or a wasted life

He said will do what?

Inherit the EARTH! Everyone knows inheritance has value, whether it be monetary value of sentimental.

He said who?

Meek… Our culture considers it weak…intimidated… scared…lacking confidence… Inferior.

According to, meek is defined as

  1. humbly patient or docile, as under provocation from others.
  2. overly submissive or compliant; spiritless; tame.
  3. Obsolete . gentle; kind.

No man of evil, hatred, bitterness, greed, and ugliness lived a day in his life. He may have had life but that’s not the same.

A long life, let alone one of good health, prosperity, and happiness… One with spiritual growth and a peace of mind.. One that leads to great inheritance.

Sounds good to me.

Living with a Mental Illness III

Your peace of mind is yours to keep. Without your consent, nothing can take that from you. Sometimes, situations, that are less significant, rob us of that. Things like tiredness, stress, and hunger can create a sense of impatience and irritability. When dealing with others, a peace of mind truly is a win-win situation. They feel heard. The consideration is appreciated and respectful. You walk away pleasantly content.

Cost of Learning “The Hard Way”

The hard lessons

Wednesday Wisdom: Hard lessons don’t come cheap. (A quote on the rearview windshield of a black truck, I saw, coming home from pickin my daughter up.)

Think about that for a minute. How many times, in your life, did you learn something “the hard way”!?

I don’t have enough time to remember all of mine. I’m a stubborn, passionate, and resilient individual. I do what I want; and I take accountability.

The hard lessons, though, have been costly. I’ve lost family members because I chose to take charge of my life. I’ve lost belongings because I chose to be honest with myself and fell in love with a woman.

I’ve lost friendships over silliness, and trust so effortlessly.

I know we all have gained valuable insight over our years. The lessons have made us wiser; but, not one has come without a cost.

Consider that before deciding to go through with a plan. Decisions can’t be undone. In addition, think about the cost it places on others as a direct result of your behavior. We all coexist… And our behavior will always impact those around us.

Defined Champion

Chasing a dream

Honoring one’s self

Aiming for progress

Managing the pain

Pushing on forward

Implementing core values

Operating as if victorious

Never giving up!

Being a champion is far more than playing ball on a field/court. It’s far more than a playoff game or spelling bee contest. A champion is a winner. A winner is defined by the actions behind one’s character.

Winners are born😁

Champions are made😉
