Timeless Discovery

This post is being created for Mindlovemisery’s Sunday Writing Prompt.

Donavon has always been the quiet and stand off(ish) kid in the neighborhood. When he was a few months into his fourth year, his parents took him to a specialized doctor, in hopes of ” finding a cure.” Don’t misunderstand, they’ve always dearly loved and accepted their precious boy, though predisposed to a lifetime of teasing, mockery, and bullying. They just decided to try harder; to help Donny feel a bit more ” normal”.

He had selective mutism. There’s situations when he simply can not speak, though (without awareness of his condition) it could bring serious consequences.

Now, aged five years, Donny has adapted to his new normal. He has a few buddies, goes fishing and hiking, creates art from Arizona’s famous red dirt. His most favorite pastime is exploring. There’s many overgrown areas of the west that history left behind. Covina, his best friend, would read to him, the old books and newspapers they’d find in the dilapidated saloon.

On a particular windy and overcast Thursday, the boys were trucking down the dusty path, as they did every day. They were discussing the idea of dissecting a frog, without omitting any possible disgusting detail. In the middle of a sentence, Covina heard a sudden, yet brief, shuffle in the brushes. It was to obvious to have been a small creature. On the other hand, there aren’t other humans around this part of the path either.

Curiosity won that brief moment; and the two boys changed course. Initially, the shuffle sounded as if in arms length. Had it been a creature, such could have effortlessly reached out and bit one of them. With no such luck; however, they searched and searched for what it is they heard. Nothing!

Suddenly, roughly forty yards to the west, they heard it again. The boys wasted no time scurrying to the left of their searched path and continued for three miles.

The stone path seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. It didn’t look familiar to either of the two; but, that didn’t matter. The path lead right up to an odd, unground, and shabby hobbit house.

Neither of the boys knew this place was here. They’ve never heard any adults talking about it either. Slowly and cautiously, Donny inched closer to the door. He had picked up the thickest stick nearby, and prepared himself for war. There, six inches from the stone wall laid something deep brown and medium in size. He couldn’t tell what it was, so he reached down to pick it up.

Covina slowly made his way over to Donny and stared.

“ How peculiar!” He voiced, starling Donny.

Donny’s facial expression was in agreement.

They walked over to the stone wall and sat. Opening the front cover, they saw a ticket. Train Ticket $7, Destination Unknown it read.

Covina turned the page,

” The train pulled into the station promptly at 7:07 pm…”

He clumped a small section of pages together and flipped to page 24.

” The train pulled into the station promptly at 7:07 pm…”

Again on page 36, 49, 73, and 104. The stories began the same but always ended differently from the journey before. The rest of the night, the two boys sat deep in the seclusion, reliving the tales recorded in this book.

“Maybe we should find this train station????” Covina asked Donavon.

Donny had that look in his eye and said, ” Vamos!”

Autumn has been my favorite season for years, moreso as an adult though. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve developed a more rich appreciation for the color magic and the all to familiar tastes of Fall.

The color combinations of Burgundy (one of my absolute favorite), with evergreens green and burnt orange is just lush!! The aroma of pumpkin and apple pie, turkey and ham… Mmmmm.

There’s nothing that’ll make me understand how fast this year has come and gone; but, I’m looking forward to all the aspects of Autumn.

Monday Greetings

I hope you all had a good weekend. I actually had a pretty good one, all things considered.

Saturday night I went to bed at 9:15, got up about three for snack, and went back to sleep until 8:15. I can’t remember the last time I slept all like that.

Today, I got a few things accomplished and really tackled my kitchen. Decluttering ALWAYS feels good. My dishes are about done, yeah it feels nice.

Other than that, it’s been a chill weekend. To hot and tired to do much else.

Good Morning y’all.

I Give Up

Today on June 25, 2019, I’m following beside the brave and beautiful soul, JoyPassionDesire; and I’m giving up!

Say whhhhaaaa?

I’m giving up expecting others to care about my feelings when I know they won’t.

I’m giving up the fear to open up and let someone in.

I’m giving up the belief that I’m unloveable and difficult to love.

I’m giving up the downward spiral of his toxic life.

I’m giving up the caution that hinders happiness and invites doubt.

I’m giving up the belief in “finding the one”… Because life will lead love to find me.

I’m giving up the lie that I’m nothing because I’m not working.

I’m releasing all the negative voices, Vibes, and energy out into the vast unknown…

And I wait for that which my heart is speaking into my life.

The power of Law of Attraction will manifest my dreams and desires.

Filling all the empty places in my soul, with the sweetest taste of what’s meant for me.

What about you, what do you need to release? So you’re free to fly?

Tuesday Greetings

Good Morning Wonderful People 😀

It’s been a few days since I’ve posted. I’ve been reevaluating my life and future since this recent big change. It scary, slightly, because I felt my sense of direction has been removed. In a way, it has. Change rearranges our lives… And introduces us to new opportunities.

I had such a message sent to me yesterday, that’s inspired me to write a love story.

” If I ever saw an angel, it was in your eyes, for this I will sweep you off your feet and make God regrethe left an angel behind.”

Maybe if I do this, I’ll feel some healing. I’ll know someone has the love they deserve, even then some. LoL, does that make sense to anyone else?

Ok, my girls and I are off to do laundry and back out to the creek! 🙂

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Accepting What Is

I don’t know how. I don’t know why.

A situation, such as this, requires one thing… acceptance.

We’ve all been in a situation where we’ve just had to accept the truth. Sometimes, the truth is difficult. Sometimes, the truth is positive and we struggle to believe it.

Why do you struggle with accepting?

Insecurity? Rejection? Disowning? Fear? Bitterness? Anger? Abuse?

When we face the “why”, we can heal apart of ourselves. Healing can open new doors; and, create opportunities for beautiful beginnings.

Here’s to Love

Here’s to love..

In all it’s purity.

In all of it’s unity.

In all of it’s healing.

In all of it’s togetherness.

In all of it’s endurance.

In all of it’s work.

In all of it’s challenges.

Here’s to love,

In all of it’s unique design.

In it’s magical moments.

In it’s hope and trust.

In it’s acceptance.

In all of it’s glory.

In all of it’s forgiveness.

In all of it’s patience.

In all of it’s happiness.

In all of it’s laughter.

In all of it’s truth.

The element that sustains life,

The only element that lives beyond life,

The beginning, rebirth, and cause of all that is good.

Here’s to Love…

May we all expierence it.

Why Love isn’t ‘Love’

I love this insight 💖 Love is so easily disgusted by other things. It’s important we get back to its true roots.

A Time 4 Healing

The universal alignment showed me this as soon as I opened Pinterest. Is it a sign? I’d like to believe so. The saying goes,

” It’s always darkest before the dawn.”

So this evening, as I say farwell to one of the hardest weekends I’ve been through, I look forward to these coming days of healing.

How about all of you? Does anyone feel a sense of transition in the midst? Anyone feel a sense of change in a situation? I pray that healing patches up all the hurt you carry. I pray that you recognize the light shining and allow yourself the new opportunities your future is meant to have.

Namastè Sweet Souls

I Got You

I see you

When you’re smile like there’s nothing wrong.

I hear you

When you’re laughing, and saying ” I’m alright”.

I see you

When you’re out with friends and the talk of the table.

I hear you

When you close your eyes; and your dreams speak.

Between the lines that others read,

Is a story all of it’s own.

It’s not hidden, it’s just unrecognizable to most.

But I see it; and I hear it.

It’s not comfortable, it’s distributing to say the least.

But I’ve seen it, and I’ve heard it before…

Because I’ve been there.

I was you.

Saturday 💛 Vibes

Good Morning!

Today’s a new day.

What brings your heart joy right now?

To whom would you show gratitude?

This morning, my daughter and I fed the birds and squirrels. I was excited to see birds actually paying us a visit.

After we came back inside the warmth, we did a  step by step instructions of how to make toast. She’s easily flustered, and lots of information at once doesn’t work. She did well, and I’m thankful that we did it together.

I’m not sure whats in store for today; but I’m determined to feel good. Later, I’m thinking pancakes 😁

Prayer Request

If you could ask God to bless me with this specifically, I’d appreciate it:
For a stronger heart, to provide what I can to him, that will best help in his healing and rediscovery, at the right and best time. That’s my desire as well.

Thank you so much ❤️

Word of the Day Challenge: Delight

Photo Credit: Juliet Furst on Unsplash

On Saturday mornings, Sasha attends pottery classes at the local arts center. She moved to San Jantino six months ago; and, she wanted to meet new people. Her job, as an architect developer, brought her here, but most of the employees were men. She wasn’t interested in them or any of that gender.

May first came rather quickly. It was a warm 70 degrees already, at a quarter till 8. Sasha grabbed her clothes and headed for the shower. While she suddes up and washed away yesterday’s fret, she sang along with Cher’s Turn Back Time, coming from her ipod. Sasha had always enjoyed the classics of this fascinating and independently strong woman.

Twenty minutes later, Sash turned off the water and grabbed her oversize purple bath towel. She stepped out of the tub and dried off.

Walking free and exposed to allow her skin to breathe, she strolled over to her Bluetooth speaker and connected the iPod. As it connected, Half Breed filled the room. She laughed. This was the song that was playing the first time she had a girl stay over, in her own place, back in Anchorage.

She’s never felt ashamed of her nakedness. She’s worked through the self consciousness of her attraction to women. She’s accepted that she is a bit husky and that her face is a bit full… She’s accepted that her parents have distanced themselves from her, and many of her friends have quit talking to her. For 17 years, she’s pretended to be who she isn’t. Every moment of those years was torturous. She had to move.

Realizing the time, Sasha grabbed an apple, her coffee, and keys. She headed out the door, triple checking to make sure both the screen and front doors were locked in place. She grabbed her sunglasses and put them on, with utter delight that today was such a joyful and exciting day.

My Mental Health Journey 13

Opened Tabs:

  • My kitchen sink seriously needs emptied. Why can’t I feel motivated.
  • Today’s my first day of work… After 10 years… I’m very excited about it. This is going to change my life. Ironically, it’s a job that would repulse an INFJ.. LOL I am going to be using my incredibly sweet and pleasurable phone voice to call potential sellers!! I’d follow a script and fill out a questionnaire. I’m actually beginning to “dream”…Sure, I’ve had goals. I’ve had the smaller achievements over time. I’ve not felt capable and it possible for me dream much bigger than the necessities, ever.

{See what BAD anxiety can do? Creates an incarcerated feeling to the house.}

  • My boyfriend woke up Sunday. I couldn’t contain my tears. I knew that I worried about memory loss; but, I’m more prepared for it. He’s not remembered much since walking up. Not many people, not associates he’s known for years. I know he doesn’t remember me… BUT, I know who I am in this situation… And by knowing so, I’m able to be ok with whatever the future holds. Do I want him to forget me, no! I’m sure that the follow of what’s meant to happen will be exactly what we need at the time. It’s about faith, hope, and love.
  • I really need a nap.
  • I really need to shave 😂😂
  • Bluh…

It Didn’t Matter As Much, Until It Did.

There’s going to come a moment,

When your world is going to stop,

And the next minute, the next hour

The next day, week,

The next second is going to be of uncertainty.

Life is going to feel so fragile.

The idea of feeling hopeful feels like

A jynx, and there will be very little control of your own.

It’s the downfall, the dark clouds, and the questioning

That draws out courage, strength, and wisdom.

It’s the possibilities of the end that rearrange

Priorities and gives us perspective.

We’re usually not prepared for such moments,

We think it’ll never happen to us..

Until it does.

It does…

Then, we begin to live…

Because tomorrow isn’t promised.

Easter 2019🌸

The gray and colorless days arrive.

Fierce rain move in and floods her mind.

Insecurities, fears, endless lies,

Every second of every day.

She struggles to see the outlines,

The defining moments.. Her life

Becomes blurry, too fast.

Despite what pulls her down,

She remains loving of herself.

She embraces the unpredictability life is.

She accepts the process of

Her pain and discomfort.

Her love and light warms

The places in her life,

That her mortality attacks.

She is breathless and beautiful

From the inside out.

Modern Day Jesus on Good Friday

I think Jesus would give a speech, more like the Holy Ghost would give a speech on Good Friday. I am certain Jesus didn’t want His followers, and disciples to grieve his loss of life. Though few believed His declaration of return, He told them. He also said to not be burdened by this world.

Kind of ironic for me; but, this modern day poem conveys the same beautiful message. This is hypothetically speaking, well maybe not. Spiritually speaking is better said. In all instances, the individual is not at the grave… But rather in every and all ways, that entails the Spirit world.

Happy Good Friday 💙🕊

Evening Thoughts 🌙

The day’s over.

I made it through.

Might not have been easy;

But, I did it.

My precious toddler wanted

Mommy to help her fall asleep.

That moment, watching her sleep,

Made me so proud.

Something I never heard my

Parents say.

My “me time” is so close,

I can almost taste the wine.

My dear friend checked in with me.

She’s such a gem.

Slow progress is better than no progress.

Some situations aren’t on my list to

My morning glories are flourishing;

I can’t wait to see their color.

My life is so complex… There’s so much

That pulls my emotions.

I’m so grateful that I made it through

Another day.

My loves

I didn’t know I could love an animal ( non-typical pet) as much as I love these guys. When they were first given to me, I remember thinking

“Dear Lord, I don’t know how to take care of turtles. I don’t think I even have a home for them.”

Well here we are, months and months later 🙂 They’re very much members of my little family.

I just cleaned their home so they can climb to dry land.

Mistakes Don’t Define

We are our own worst critics.

I wonder,…. if we were to stand in front of the 4 year old version of ourselves, would we be so harsh? Would we talk so down about ourselves, what we look like, or what we’ve done? Would we be so unforgiving of the mistakes and so solid on criticizing our character.

I’m guessing doubtfully so…

Why, then, do we do it to our reflections? Because we should know better? Because we expect more of ourselves? Because adults shouldn’t have excuses for mistakes, but rather, there shouldn’t be a many mistakes.

The lessons we’ve learned this far haven’t been because someone said ” Don’t touch that, it’s hot!” And then we listened. Oh no, humans do the exact opposite of what’s good for them, usually within minutes of being told not to. It’s how we learn though, by doing… And by doing so, the expierence becomes relevant to our lives.

What children learn though, or what they should learn, is that they’re not defined by their mistakes. They’re defined by how they handle life… How they handle every situation they get into… And that by being given the opportunity to choose for him/herself, he/she can grow confident in his/her decision making.

Those who feel their mistakes are branded on their skin may have expierenced shame as a child. They may believe that they’re incapable of doing something right. They may lack confidence and self esteem. This type of person might be you.

I just want to say you are wonderful just as you are. Each of you is a gift to this world, and your mistakes have made you the better person you are today. We NEED mistakes, so we can learn and grow. There’s nothing of which will go down in vein of you ALLOW yourself to be uncomfortable and change. It’s taken me many years to erase the embarrassment from my skin.

Subtle and quietly, she maneuvered through the

Market, searching for the perfect melon and freshest

Bundle of basil leaves.

Her father would scold her till hell froze over if he

knew; but she lived for the wrong doing adrenaline.

It gave her a sense of urgency to explore this great

Big world; all that’s beyond those stuffy castle walls.

As she weaved through the townspeople, she kept her

Eyes on the market stand she frequently visited.

His was by far the best of choices, for everything from

Fruit to herbs, flower seeds, to organic pastries. He

Was a dark and handsome man, roughly late 20s to

Mid 30s.

Though, she had a gaze that stopped em in their

Tracks, she has yet to accomplish the challenge

Of catching his attention. She’d gracefully step up to

The stand, and flash a warm and friendly smile.

As he did with every lady, he’d tip his hat with respect

And a returned welcome. She always anticipated the

butterflies that followed.

” How could this man have no idea? ” She thought

To herself.

She put down a melon that obviously wasn’t ready for

Purchasing and picked up another. Honeysuckle

Syrup poured over crepes, with a side of cantaloupe

Was her favorite breakfast. Her mother would

sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg over the entire plate. It

Was the perfect touch, but moms do that, add what’s

Needed to made everything just right.

She returned to the market scene when she felt a

warm touch upon her arm. She smiled sheepishly, that

Sweet and innocent smile men can’t resist. He stood so

Close, she could feel his body heat radiate from his

well defined figure.

” Sorry, I didn’t hear what you said.” She sympathized

He simply took the fruit from her hand and replaced it

With one from his crop. Politely, he tip his hat again as

If to say, It’s on me. Bidding you a great day.

She accepted with a returned wink and headed back
